Pocketful of Sunshine...

DW headed over to Georgia yesterday to watch Auburn get their bootays kicked and so he was gone all day on Saturday.  I spent the day running errands, taking the pups to the dog park and giving them baths, laundry...you know, the fun stuff.  ;-)

This morning we made a plan to go to church tonight so we could sleep in late and headed over to Oak Mountain State Park to take a hike with Tuck and Sam.  Its really important to me that we keep Tucker active because he's on up there in years and I know the second we start treating him like he's old, I'll lose him.   Dude, that thought makes me want to flip. my. crap.  He is literally my first and longest commitment...as in 13+ years together.

We made it about 2 miles with him before we had to head back...

DW agreed to hang out with the pups and read his book while I went for a trail run...which was awesome until it dawned on me that the first half of my run had been mostly downhill. Which means - yup, you guessed it - all the way back was up hill.  Wowsa.  Still beautiful, though!

When I was done, I walked up to these three handsome men kicking it in a nearby clearing, waiting on me...

And then we all laid around, enjoying ourselves in the Fall sunshine...DW reading...and I took some pics of the pups to document our day.

My sweet boys...

Sam guarding his ball and using his eyes to beg me to play...

...and then begging me to stop taking pictures...

...and then bailing on me...

What a perfect day with my sweet men...

Tell DW I'm real sorry about his loss!! My dad and brother were there too, but they were a bit happier with the outcome! Go Dawgs!

Your pups are awesome...I wish my Siberian would pose like that for me! :)

I love these pics! It looks like a perfect day with your loves! Oh girl, I know what you mean about the four legged babies getting up there in age. We have two twelve year olds and they were literally our first children. We did everything with them. Still do! I can't imagine life without them!

Aww I love your pups. Especially Sam b/c he looks so much like my dog. I don't get to see him anymore b/c I got divorced. Such a sweet face. Thanks for sharing :-)

Hey there! I just love your blog! I've been reading for a few weeks now, and I just love your positive outlook and your faith. I, too, am married to a small town Alabama boy! We live in Kentucky now, and we are expecting our first baby in April. He's an absolute blessing from God. I thought I wouldn't be able to have kids, but God thought otherwise. I blog at Tiger Fans in Cat Country if you ever want to check it out. Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and I can't wait to keep reading your blog!
