Pro Picker

I had early testing yesterday morning before classes so by late afternoon, I crashed and burned. My 20 minute power nap turned into about 2 and a half hour power slumber because I just could not get up. I lay there awake for awhile and when DW walked by me, I stretched, reached out for him and lazily said, "Wow, I don't know what happened?! I slept SO hard." I continued, "I wonder why I can sleep so much better during the day than at night?" He tickled my arm with his fingertips and pensively thought about it. "I don't know", he replies. "Have you ever considered that you may be..." at which point he pauses for dramatic effect and nods his head seriously, "...a Vampire?"

I shake my head and roll my eyes...which makes him proudly laugh at his own joke. DW actually told me one time that he wished there was a job for being a "Professional Picker" because he thought he'd be the "best Picker in the world". This makes me laugh out loud just writing it. I also have to laugh thinking about how I always try to do the things he does to me like hide and scare him or sneak up on him and it never works. His response is always to say with a smirky grin, "You can't get the get-er, baby." LOL!

In other news, I'm waiting on a treadmill repair person who is 30+ minutes late and counting. I haven't gotten a single phone call to say he's caught in traffic or just plain running late...and he told me that I was the first appointment of the day when we set the appointment last week. One of the things I've found most shocking about being a business owner is how often I have contacted vendors for products, services, etc...and I have to basically beg to spend my money. I have to call multiple times, follow up and confirm appointments, request quotes that are promised and not sent. It's a strange world, people, when we are in a seriously struggling economy where everyone could use business and employees of companies blow off revenue. Maybe this is one of the reasons we are a struggling economy. People don't know how to work anymore or do what they say.

But I digress, I'm just getting on my soap box now and my Mama always says if you don't have anything nice to say, hurry up and say it really fast. Just kidding, I stole that line from a tv show I saw but can't remember which one at the moment. It was something more like, "Don't say it at all..."

Love it! I'm going to have to use that one from now on. Lol! I hope they get there soon. Waiting for repair people is so frustrating and annoying.

Ugh...I had a rant about rude people that are inconsiderate of the other people's time today myself. I don't get where common courtesy has gone. Hope you have a good day!

A Vampire, lol! That made me grin like an idiot in Starbucks and embarrass myself :)I def understand about BOTH the nap, and the vendor issues! We're setting up a seminar right now and it's dicey finding ppl you can rely on - an addition is there on my long term to-do list that's reminding me to make friends with good vendors! Argh!

On another note I have a new blog up with the new hubby: www.rawkout.com :)

And seriously...customer service is dead in our society. Makes me so mad!

Ughhh...I hate this! Hubby always does crazy stuff to me as well & I can't ever get him as good as he gets me. Why is this so hard!?!

Professional picker huh?!? I think that would be an excellent job for Hubs too. I wonder if there's any money in that... =)

If I am really tired and take a nap during the day, I sleep better. For some reason I sleep better during the day then at night anyways. i try to not let myself take to many naps!
