Missing Coopy-Do

I've been missing Cooper especially bad today and it occured to me that it's been 3 months to the day since we lost her. I'm still not to the point where I can think about her and not feel heartbroken all over again.

I don't know what I was thinking, but I decided to go on the Consumer Affairs website to see if any more negative reports have been posted against Nutro and tons - with symptoms JUST like Coop's - have been added since I last checked when she was sick. I read them and just cried and cried thinking that had I realized it earlier, losing her could have been (possibly) prevented. I know I can't think about it like that, but it's sooooooo hard not too.

I wanted to post something about it again, not to be "poor me" but in case some reader is still feeding their pet Nutro and missed my post about it back when Coop was sick. I still believe it had to have contributed to our loss. I also wanted to make sure that people know that Mars Internati*nal, the company that bought Nutro, also owns Royal Canin, Whiskas, & Pedigree...just so you know.

Miss you, sweet girl...

Oh Amy, this just breaks my heart. I am so sorry that you have had to go through this. I love my dog to pieces and I can't even begin to fathom how you're feeling, 3 months later.

We feed Layla Blue Buffalo, which I have no complaints about, but this does remind me to stay educated about what I'm feeding her. I'll also remember the name Nutro in the future in case I know someone else who is feeding it to their pet.

I am saying a prayer for you tonight, one for peace. Love you friend :)

Amy, I completely understand that sad feeling about your baby. It has been over 10 years since I lost my first (fur)baby and just last week I cried about it.

Amy, I just read your full post about losing Cooper and it breaks my heart. I can’t even imagine life without my dog, but one day I’ll have to, and hope it’s a long ways away, but your situation is proof that you just never know. I’ll be hugging my dog a little bit tighter from now on!

Oh my. That is so sad, I'm sorry you're feeling sad. Our dogs are so important to us, though I've never lost a dog I don't like to think about it! Thanks for posting again, I am a "new reader" and I was interested to see about the food!

I'm glad that you are raising awareness about the food situation! And just think, you are probably helping to save a 4-legged life! I will always know to pass along that info to anyone who even mentions Nutro.

I will continue to keep you in my thoughts for healing in missing your girl. Love that picture of her!

As you know, I've been doing my research... Izzy is eating Wellness Core and Blue Buffalo right now. I am so thankful that you shared your Cooper story with us or I would've never realized.

I hope the missing him part gets easier for you soon!!

Think of you friend. I want you to know that I've shared Cooper's story with my own dog loving friends. Several of them had used the same food. Sending prayers your way. XOXO

We feed Duke Royal Canin. He burns our yard with his urine so it's a prescription but I want different stuff. I just sent my husband the link to your post. SOOOO sad.

I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. We recently had a scare with Iams. We were able to catch it within the first 24 hours after a visit to the vet. I went onto Consumer Reports to see a TON of issues with the same food. I know we were very lucky and it breaks my heart to hear about your loss.
