Young At Heart...

For those of you who aren't familiar with Bartee, the important details you need to know in order to understand this story are:

1. He is 72 years old and one of the most interesting, lovable people I've ever known!
2. He believes that "if you stop learning you might as well be dead"...
3. He's pretty much my work AND life mentor
4. And...I'm crazy about him!


Not too long after I started working for him in Memphis, I sent him his first text message and laughed my butt off when he answered it by picking up his phone and saying, "Hello?" He then looked at it in confusion and said, "What in the world is that?" From that point, he wanted to know how to tex mex and he's been texting me every since. One day, I sent him a message in response to a funny text he sent that simply said, "LOL". Shortly, thereafter I received one back that said, "what is LOL?" I explained it to him and got one back that said, "OK, FF GB! LOL." I had to get him translate FF & GB for me since they were just Bartee-isms. He wrote me back, "Friends Forever, Ghetto Booty", which is what he calls me sometimes.

Well, the other day he sends me an email and I sent him back a playful message that said, "OMG! I can't believe it!" By the way, OMG means "Oh My Gosh". Just so you can be up and current on most commonly used text and instant message terms, I'm sending you a list:
