It's Official: We're. Dorks.

Dusty and I went to see the movie Iron Man this afternoon. We were exhausted from driving to Birmingham and back yesterday for a friend's 30th birthday party (post to come later) and just wanted a chill afternoon. I'd already seen the movie last week when Nick was in town, but I loved it and really wanted Dusty to see it...I think it might be my favorite movie of the summer, so far. Not only was it a good, clean movie - something we don't get to see much these days and I wanted to support it - but the effects were amazing and it was really pretty funny as well! I highly recommend it...

After the movie, we went to try out a new pizza place near our house and I don't know what happened, but we couldn't stop laughing at each other. It all started when I asked Dusty to take a picture of me at the restaurant. He rolled his eyes and made some comment under his breath about how I'm "such a weirdo", but then I convinced him to do it also with the promise that it wouldn't end up on the blog. I did add the condition that I could post it if I convinced him to give me permission...and obviously I must be very persuasive because the pictures are on here, aren't they?

My mustache:

After takes the pictures, I was looking everywhere for my camera lens cap, but couldn't seem to find it! Then, it dawned on me that Dusty had suddenly started singing along with the U2 song "Without You" right at the part where it says, "I stiiiiilllll haaaven't fooooounnnndddd, whaaaat I'm loooookkkkiiiiingggggg fooooorrrr!" My head jerks up out of my purse, where I'm searching, and I accuse, "You have it! Don't, you?" He grins and shrugs his shoulders, but casually picks up his glass of tea for a long swig and there...laying right behind where his glass of tea had stood...was the missing lens cap! How convenient the restaurant was playing that song at that very moment...it sure gave Dusty a good laugh at my expense!

After dinner, we took our golf clubs and some foam practice driving balls out to an open field behind an elementary school near our house. It's fenced in so Tucker can run around and when we hit the golf balls, Cooper runs to retrieve them. Everybody's happy...it wipes her out and we get to practice our golf swing. Dusty was standing on one side of the field and I was standing on the other, hitting the balls back and forth, when the sky dropped out. We knew there were some dark clouds above us, but when we heard the first rumble I yelled, "I'm scared! I don't want a club in my hand if there is a freak lightning strike!" Dusty agreed and right about then the first of the enormous drops started pounding down. We grabbed the clubs and starting running to pick up the balls, scattered everywhere, but we were already getting soaked. We high-tailed it to the car, with the dogs hot on our heels and I couldn't run for laughing at the sight of my husband sprinting in the front of me while yelling, "yup, this is a big one!" Really? I couldn't tell!

As I'm writing this, thunder just boomed so loud the window panes rattled and it's coming down in sheets! I've gotta say, I love it...but I think its time to shut down the computer!

lol...Dusty's shirt is circa 1985. It's a brand that says HOBIE, not BOOBIES...but thanks for pointing that out!

Sometimes I really miss the thunderstorms we had back in Arkansas. Jason & I were talking last night about how much we kind of missed thunderstorms! Living in Las Vegas is so different. We have been here almost a year now & I don't really miss the humidity, but I miss the laziness & fun of a rainy day - which we NEVER have here. Needless to say, I do have a lot of good hair days :D
